The Word is God

The Bible is a collection of writings which was written several thousand years ago. Though the scripture was written years back, yet they have the power to comfort us. Each time we read the Bible, it speaks to us aptly according to the situation we are going through and encourages us. God speaks to us through His Word.  As John 1:1 reads “In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God.” As the Word says, God is pleased with the one who trembles at His word. Those who revere God’s Word by obeying it will enjoy divine favour.

At times, we read the Bible without understanding its meaning and therefore murmur that God has left us to perish in our tribulations. On the contrary, when we respect God’s commands, then God blesses us and protects us through His Word. In the book of Ephesians, it is written: “the sword of the Spirit, which is the word of God” (6:17). There was a gentleman who was a forest officer and one day on the behest of his son, they took a stroll in the woods. Suddenly, the father gets a call from his higher official to look into an assignment. He hands over a pistol to his son and leaves for his work. The sight of an elephant scared the son, and he shouted ‘dad, help me.’ He kept screaming until his dad reminded him to use the pistol given for his protection. The son used the pistol and was able to chase the wild elephant away.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE

Likewise, the Word of God is our protection. The Bible teaches us “For our struggle is not against flesh and blood, but against the rulers, against the authorities, against the powers of this dark world and against the spiritual forces of evil in the heavenly realms” (Ephesians 6:12). God has not forgotten you, and He is aware of your problems, your hardships and has given you His unfailing promises. Believe in His promises and claim it over your situation. Follow God’s statutes even when the going gets tough. He will surely deliver you and grant you victory.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, I ask pardon for having swayed from Your Word. Grant me Your grace to follow Your statutes even during my struggles. I believe You will deliver me and grant me victory. Lord, Your Word is a lamp for my feet and a light on my path, may I always walk in the light of Your Word.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
