“Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful”. (Colossians 3:15)
Dearly Beloved,

When you come before the Lord in prayer, you place your needs and God answers your prayers. But, the very next moment, are you thankful to the Lord, for granting all that you asked for? If you are thankful then, God will exalt you. You are called to peace by God, living in harmony with one another and thanking the Lord, for all His goodness, “Let the peace of Christ rule in your hearts, since as members of one body you were called to peace. And be thankful” (Colossians 3:15).

George Washington, was a very famous personality; he was the Commander of the American Army. He led the army in battle against the British army, to gain independence for the country. Though, the British army followed him to seize him, but he, along with few soldiers rode on horses and reached the Potomac river that was frozen, while the British army kept following them. Jumping into that river was tantamount to death. However, without wasting a single moment, he knelt down at the river and prayed, “ Lord! We are battling for this nation to worship you with freedom. It must be a nation that follows you. In order to save my life, I have to reach the other side of the river”. As soon as he finished the prayer, he jumped into the river. The British army, on seeing the river, retreated but Washington swam across the river and reached the other side. By God’s power, his life was saved. He once again, knelt down at the same place, hoisted a flag and declared America as a nation of God. It is in this, very place, the most famous, “ Washington DC” stands today.
Yes! My friends, you should always have a thanksgiving heart towards God Almighty. Day in and day out, God fulfills all your need and protects you, so you should all the more be grateful to the Lord. You should never forget God’s mercies and goodness in your life. Bible reminds us to be, “Be thankful” , to the Lord, who has forgiven all your sins and made you a part of the body of Christ. Whenever, you’re hurt or sad, instead of complaining, focus on God’s wonders in your life. Thankfulness focuses on God and His blessings, not on yourself or anybody else, who may have done some wrong to you. As is written in Psalm 103:1,2 “Praise the LORD, my soul; all my inmost being, praise His holy name. Praise the LORD, my soul, and forget not all His benefits”.

Practical love is demonstrated in peaceful relationships with all, including those who may have hurt you. Gratitude towards God, is that you forgive all those who have done wrong to you. And extend God’s love and peace to them. Today, if you have forgotten to thank the Lord or forgive someone who has hurt you, then you should do it now. God, in all His graciousness will work greater things, that you may have never imagined.
Loving God, I thank you for all the good things that you have done in my life. Fill me with your Holy Spirit, so that I can never forget your goodness. You alone, deserve all the Glory, Honor and Praise.

In Jesus’ most precious name I pray.
