Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
Many years ago in 1962, my father had a vision of Jesus. At that time there was a man of God encouraging my father. He and his wife would come to my father, talk to him from the Scriptures about the Gifts of the Holy Spirit, walking with God, hearing the voice of God and pray with him for long hours. One particular day, during the family prayer on 10th October 1962, Jesus appeared and spoke to my father. He filled him with the Holy Spirit. After that incident, the man of God said, "Brother, any time you have any need for prayer, come to my home. I will pray for you. Call me at times of need. I am always available to help you. You can depend on me all the time." My father trusted him totally and he would run to him for anything. After 7 years, when my father’s lungs failed, all of us depended on this man of God for help. To our surprise, he behaved in a sarcastic manner. He showered words of condemnation saying, “There is some kind of sin in you. You have allowed devil in your life. My prayers are unable to bring blessing because of your sinful attitude.” That was the moment Jesus grabbed us closer to Him and said, “My son, I want you to trust Me alone. No man can help you. Only with Me, you can bear much fruits. This situation would prune all unnecessary branches and make you a fruit-bearing tree.” My father and mother turned to God from then on. They enjoyed the miraculous ways in which God led them. Yes, it was my father and Jesus the true Vine alone from then on. Having been attached with the “true vine” Jesus, my father started bearing much fruits for His kingdom. The ministry grew internationally. Jesus said, “I am the true vine” (John 15:1).
Today, choose to trust and lean on Jesus. The words of Jesus Christ; “Remain in me, as I also remain in you. No branch can bear fruit by itself; it must remain in the vine. Neither can you bear fruit unless you remain in me. I am the vine; you are the branches. If you remain in me and I in you, you will bear much fruit; apart from me you can do nothing” (John15:4, 5) will refresh your weary soul and strengthen you! You would live an exuberant life on this earth.
Loving heavenly Father, I regret for putting my trust on people. Today, I choose to lean on You and Your promises to live a prosperous and fulfilling life on this earth. Grant me the grace to abide in You all the time. Let not people or any situation separate me from Your great love. In Jesus’ mighty name I pray, Amen.
