Food, house, clothing, enjoyment in life, is what everybody is making a beeline for, in this cut-throat competitive world. Nobody wants to experience any kind of pain in life, so are ready to slog to attain the temporary and perishable goods of this world. But if we seek the Lord first, then according to His unfailing promises we will not have to labor for materialistic things. This doesn’t advocate idleness and praying all day and night. But when we do our work honestly and lead a life pleasing and acceptable in His sight, then we will reap divine benefits. Also, we prepare ourselves for life eternal.

There was a mighty king reigning in a big country. Every birthday, he would visit the  the people of his country by riding upon his elephant. One particular year as he went to meet the people on the elephant, he carried a box of gold coins. He started throwing gold coins before the crowd, as they kept shouting “Hail, the king!”. The people were excited and rushed to pick up the gold coins. The elephant was frightened and it also started running hither thither and the box of gold coins as well as the king were falling off the elephant. Nobody was there to help the king since his bodyguards too left him and rushes to pick the gold coins. However, there was a slave person who ran and caught the king from falling down. The king asked him as to why he didn’t go to pick up the gold coins, the slave replied that if he had gone to pick up those coins, it would meet only temporary expenses but now he had got hold of the king and has found king’s favour, so he would get gold coins lifelong.
SCRIPTURE to LIFE

Similarly we have to hold onto Jesus, as He can provide for all our needs. When you trust the Lord and rely on Him, you will be blessed in your life and He shall supply all your need according to His riches in glory by Christ Jesus (Philippians 4:19). Today, if you seek God, He will be found as it’s written “I love those who love me, and those who seek me find me”. (Proverbs 8:17). Leave all your worries and fear unto Him, and seek Him. He promises to be with you and never leave you. Will you seek the loving God?
Prayer:

Jesus, I come before You and plead for Your presence in my life. Help me not to get lost in the busyiness of this world, but to seek Your face continually. Lead me and guide me, so that my life is pleasing in Your sight.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
