Rooted Deeply In Christ!

You may confess to have a firm faith in the Lord, but when you are confronted with problems, troubles and fear; you start doubting and questioning God. And this, happens, because you are not deeply rooted in Christ. So, let your roots grow around Jesus and let your lives be built on Him. As is quoted in the Bible, “Rooted and built up in Him and established in the faith, as you have been taught, aboundingin it with thanksgiving”(Colossians 2:7).

In the Bible, there is an incident, where Jesus questions the faith of His disciples. The Gospel of Luke 8:22-25, we read, that Jesus along with His disciples sailed to the other side of the lake. On their way, Jesus fell asleep. During this time, a windstorm came down on the lake and the disciples feared for their lives. Though Jesus, was right there with them, yet their faith was shaken. But, the minute they cried out to the Lord, Jesus saved them, by rebuking the wind and the raging waters. And Jesus asked His disciples, “Where is your faith?”
My friends, when your roots are strong in the Lord, nothing will deter your faith. But, because you are not deeply rooted in Christ and face trials and temptation, you start questioning God; “I trust the Lord wholeheartedly, then why am I facing this trouble? Why do I have to go through this painful situation?” And gradually, you lose your faith in the Lord.

The mountaineers are often instructed by their guide, that “whatever they do, they should not look down”. In spite, of the instruction, they will still look down and allow fear to rule over them; thinking that if they fall, they will be smashed. And,this is the same mistake, that Peter made. When Peter, saw Jesus walking on water, he too desired to walk on water. With great faith, he started to walk, but when he looked to the raging waters, he began to drown. He immediately, called unto the Lord and Jesus  saved him (Matthew 14:22-23).

Yes! When you call unto the Lord, He will deliver you from all your problems. Let not the troubles, shake your faith in the Lord. If you are deeply rooted in Christ, rely on Him alone and have your lives built on the Lord, then nothing will upset you. Don’t panic in times of troubles, as you will have to go through this; only then will you realize the strength of the Lord. Though, the Lord will make you pass through the difficult situations; He will not leave you. When you cry out to the Lord, He will help you and deliver you, as quoted in the Bible, “When you pass through the waters,I will be with you;and when you pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over you. When you walk through the fire, you will not be burned;the flames will not set you ablaze” (Isaiah 43:2). Be encouraged, in the mighty strength of the Lord!
Prayer:
Loving, Heavenly Father, I come before you placing all my troubles and difficult situations. Let me not, be shaken in my faith that I have in you. For you are a mighty God, with whom nothing is impossible. I believe, you will deliver me out of all my problems.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
Amen
