Path Of Righteousness

Dear Sons and Daughters in Christ,

The most pleasing act in the sight of God is, to lead blameless life of righteousness. You may have a desire to do good, but sometimes unwanted thoughts caused by the flesh spur you to do things, that are displeasing to God. Your conscience would be directing you to be at peace with everyone. But on the other hand, the carnal mind brings in you enmity, bitterness, envy and strife.

The scripture mentions about a woman, named Rahab. Though she was into harlotry yet, she wholeheartedly helped God’s chosen people. And was justified by that good work (James 2:25). This highlights the importance of following the path of righteousness. As the Bible says, “For the Lord is righteous, He loves justice; the upright will see His face” (Psalm 11:7).

A mother raised her son in all good ways. Provided for the best education for him, and he was successful to secure a good job too. Later the mother got him married. The wife too, followed the righteous ways. She was diligent to seek God through the family prayers and Bible reading. Having received all the family blessings, she gradually forgot the Lord and gave room to carnal thoughts. She drifted away from the Lord and this set in the chance for the devil to bring in all mean thoughts- envy, irritation and bitterness. Chaos entered the family that was enjoying peace until then. She was always in a conflict with her mother-in-law. The mother was quite upset of all the disturbance taking place in the house. Yet, with much fasting and prayer, she bound the carnal thoughts and the devil’s work in her daughter-in-law, in the name of Christ (Philippians 2:10). The Lord answered her prayers and delivered her daughter-in-law from the worldly thoughts that she was bound to. So, one day the daughter picked her Bible and began to read it. As she opened it, the verse that caught her attention was, “…. you will only find yourselves fighting against God” (Acts 5:39).
She deeply regretted her evil ways. She knelt down in prayer and repented before God. Our Lord, who is rich in mercy forgave her and she was a new person in Christ. Divine Peace filled the family and they rejoiced in the Lord.

Dear brothers and sisters, have you also been living according to the worldly measures and set enmity with God? If yes, then today is the time to mend your ways and walk in the path of righteousness. To walk in the path of righteousness is to keep yourself away from all the worldly thoughts and give room to the mind of the spirit. This would lead you to have peace and life, as mentioned in the Bible, “The mind governed by the flesh is death, but the mind governed by the Spirit is life and peace” (Romans 8:6). Rahab and the other woman mentioned above, chose this divine way and were thus made righteous. If you too follow this way, you will enjoy a life of peace and happiness.
Loving God,
I come before you and repent of all my sins. Fill me with your Holy Spirit to walk in the way of righteousness and to avoid the worldly measures of life.
In the most precious name of Jesus I pray.
