Never turn away from God!

Dearly beloved,
The evil one may plot several plans and bring hindrances to get us away from trusting the living God Almighty. But it is very important to keep our hope in the Lord at all times and thrive to completely rely on Him.  We may be tempted to receive the best of what we desire, but we should never yield to such temptations. “Beware, brethren, lest there be in any of you an evil heart of unbelief in departing from the living God” (Hebrews 3:12).

An incomparable valiant king ruled a country. He had a son who was dearly loved by him. This son excelled in wisdom and power. Whenever the father went for battles he used to go along with him. They always were victorious. Soon the king made him the ruler of a state. The son’s name and fame spread far and wide. The king had a mistress and she wanted to seize the nation. So, she sowed the seed of poison in the king’s heart saying, “Everybody is praising your son and not you. I heard the news that he’s planning to kill you soon and usurp the kingdom.” Believing her, the king became furious. He summoned his son who came before his throne and asked him lovingly, “Father, why did you call me?” In fury, the king ordered the soldiers who were standing nearby to strangle his son with iron rods and kill him. Alas, the son died pathetically. Days passed by. The same woman instigated the king to rage war against the neighboring country. He went leading his troops without the son’s assistance. Alas! He was defeated and lost everything to the enemy.
This is how the devil changes our hearts into evil with unbelief, bringing willful temptation in order to make us depart from the living God. He tempts us so that he can do anything with us when we get separated from God. Before embarking on His ministry, the gracious Lord Jesus waited alone in the presence of God for forty days and nights in fasting, to be one with his Father, to receive strength from above and to fully accomplish the will of God. Then Jesus was led by the Spirit into the wilderness to be tempted by the devil.

Dearly beloved, Jesus said, "The thief comes only to steal and kill and destroy; I have come that they may have life, and have it to the full” (John 10:10). Temptations come across the lives of each and every individual but the strength to endure them is obtained from our Lord Jesus Christ. When you cling on to the Savior, He will deliver you from all temptations (Luke 11:4). You will not only be delivered but also be assured of His promise. No temptation] has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). When you overcome the temptations of this world you will be honored both on earth and in Heaven.
Prayer:
Father, in you I trust and put my hope on! You are my deliverer, strong tower and my refuge. I pray to thee that you will lead me not to temptations and will deliver me from evil. Lord, let there be nothing on earth that could hinder me from your love. Engulf me with your love and grace.
All this I ask in the matchless name of our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Amen!
