Godly Edification through Faith!

Sis. Stella Dhinakaran

Dearly beloved,
The Bible says: “…you may charge some that they teach no other doctrine…which cause disputes rather than Godly edification which is in faith” (I Timothy 1:3, 4). According to this verse, the more we trust the Lord and put our faith in Him, the more we are edified in our devotion. We can grasp great knowledge about faith from the book of Hebrews. We read, "Faith is confidence in what we hope for and assurance about what we do not see" (Hebrews 11:1). Yes! Examine yourself today and see how strong you are in the Lord.  We also read, "By faith Abraham, when called to go to a place he would later receive as his inheritance, obeyed and went, even though he did not know where he was going" (Hebrews 11:8). Do you have such faith in the Lord as Abraham had? "And by faith even Sarah, who was past childbearing age, was enabled to bear children because she considered him faithful who had made the promise" (Hebrews 11:11). So, faith is the essential ingredient in the life of every Christian. If we have such faith in the Lord, then it will cause Godly edification in us. God loves to reward you, for your faith in Him.
A couple was struggling because they were childless for many years and the reproaches and insults of many people which targeted them broke their hearts too. They decided, “Let us go to Bethesda Prayer Centre at Karunya in Coimbatore and humble ourselves before the Lord and He will certainly have mercy on us” and went there and stayed there for a day and poured out their heart before the Lord, shedding tears. They prayed with fervent faith. The Lord saw their faith, blessed the womb of this woman and gave her twins. With great joy, this woman shared this blessing as her testimony for the glory of God.

Dearly beloved! Whatever may be the situation, just as Job did not lose his faith in the Lord, we also ought to remain in steadfast faith. It is the faith that Job had, which crowned him with a double measure of blessing from whatever he had lost! The Word of God says: “And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him” (Hebrews 11:6).   Likewise, you must also have faith upon the Lord like a little child and fervently pray to Him and when you do so, you are sure to see that all your needs are met in a miraculous way. You will be rewarded in a double measure for all that you have lost in your life. May God bless you!
Prayer:
Almighty God!
Have mercy on me as I come nearer to You to seek You with faith and to receive miracles in my life. Stretch out Your loving hand to bless me so that it brings Godly edification in my faith.
In the wonderful name of the Lord Jesus I pray, O Father,
Amen.
