Why Fear When God Is With You?

Dear friend, it is my joy to write about God’s special promise for you today. God’s promise is from Jeremiah 1:8, “Do not be afraid of them, for I am with you and will rescue you,” declares the LORD.” Yes, God is with you to rescue you. Many times when we are preparing to do something new, what will be the first thing we do? The first thing that crawls in is fear. We wonder whether we will go wrong, what if I get embarrassed, what if I face a loss, or what if what I said does not happen, what if my business doesn’t take off, what if I get humiliated by my family members, what if this disease kills me, what if my plans fail etc.
All these thoughts bring fear. But dear friend, God promises that He is with us to rescue us from evil. The first thing He says before promising this is that we should not be afraid. Don’t be scared of what’s going to happen. Don’t be afraid of the evil that is coming your way. God knows well that as humans the first thing that comes our way when we are about to do something is fear.
That’s why the Lord says, “Don’t be afraid. I, myself am with you. He didn’t send somebody else to be with us. He didn’t send a substitute or a replacement but He Himself promises to be with us. “I will rescue you,” says the Lord. Yes, in Isaiah 41:13 He says, “For I am the LORD your God who takes hold of your right hand and says to you, Do not fear; I will help you.” So dear friend, in all that you do, don’t be afraid. In your anticipation, don’t be afraid because God is with you. He will help you. He will rescue you. So be of good cheer. Be strong and courageous. God Himself is with you.
Loving Father,
Thank You for this wonderful promise. I give my future and all my endeavors into Your hands. Take control of every detail in my life. Help me to be fearless to fulfill Your plans in my life. May Your name be glorified through me.
In Jesus’ precious name, I pray. Amen.
