The Comforting Presence of God

Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
28 Nov
My precious friend, today’s promise is from Isaiah 51:12 where the Lord says “I, even I, am He who comforts you.” Accordingly, it is the Lord Jesus who comforts you, my dear friend. He is your Comforter.

The Lord Jesus said, “I am going away from this earth. But I will send you a Helper; A Comforter and He will lead you into all truth. When you go through sorrow, He will come to you and when you see Him, your sorrow will turn into joy.” When Jesus was in this world, He saw the multitude and was moved with compassion. His heart went out for them when He said, ‘Where will these people go if I don’t help them or comfort them?’ In the Old Testament also, the Lord cries out for His people saying, “Who will comfort them? Comfort them! Comfort them!” When Jesus was on this earth, He said, “You don’t need to carry your burdens. Come to Me all ye that labour and are heavy laden. I will give you rest.” And as He promised, He did give rest to all those who came to Him. This same loving Lord who gave rest to everyone is also with you, today. He is calling out to you saying, “My child, I was dead but I am alive evermore! I am the One who comforts you. So, come to Me.” Will you accept this call from the Lord and come to Jesus, my friend? Just pour out your sorrows and pain at His feet and cry out to Him and say, “Lord! Comfort me!” He will certainly comfort you, today. If you read Psalm 94:18,19, the Psalmist says, “When I said, “My foot is slipping,” Your unfailing love, Lord, supported me. When anxiety was great within me, Your consolation (comfort) brought joy to my soul.” Yes, the Lord is indeed our comforter!
Today, I would encourage you to open your heart and cry out for the Spirit of Jesus who is the Holy Spirit to fill you and bring you comfort. In Isaiah 41:10 the Lord says, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with My righteous right hand.” Accordingly, the Lord will uphold you and deliver you and will help you, my friend. Come running into His arms. As He took the little children in His arms and embraced them and blessed them, He will do the same for you too, today.
Prayer:
Loving Heavenly Father, I thank You for Your loving promise. Even now, refresh my weary soul with Your comforting presence. Fill me with Your Holy Spirit and bring solace into my life. Let every negative thought, sorrow and pain depart from my life completely. Lord, uphold me with Your mighty hand, deliver me and help me. Thank You, Lord, for comforting me with Your presence. I trust You, alone. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
