Salvation By Faith In Christ

Dearly beloved,
Our God is gracious, slow to anger and abounding in steadfast love. He loves you, even with all your shortcomings and weakness. But, at the same time, He doesn’t want anyone of you to perish and so He ignores all your mistakes and the bible confirms this, “The Lord is not slow in keeping his promise, as some understand slowness. Instead he is patient with you, not wanting anyone to perish, but everyone to come to repentance.”( 2 Peter 3:9)

In the bible, we read the narrative of the prodigal son. The son had spent his wealth in an unworthy manner and when he came to his senses, he realized what a blunder he had made. However, he realized the love of his father and returned home. He confessed before his father, “ I have sinned against heaven and in your sight. I am no longer worthy to be called your son. Please forgive me.” This couldn’t keep back his father, who at once, rejoiced at his home-coming and with great compassion accepted him ( Luke 15:22-24).
Before I was saved, my company was with all ungodly friends. Each day, my parents would advise and pray for me and send me off joyfully to college. But I hardly cared for what my parents taught and continued in the evil path of my friends. Whenever, I used to return home, after college, I used to dread my parents. I used to wonder, “what if my parents came to know, that I was not attending the classes and also skipping exams, rather, enjoying the momentary pleasures of the world. What will happen to me?” I use to think about it, with each passing day. Days went by with the same routine. Finally, my parents got to know all about my activities. There was a tense atmosphere in the house. But very soon the Lord led me into salvation. I dedicated my life to the Lord and I felt great joy within me. My parents too rejoiced with me. They soon became my close friends.

My dear friends, praise God for the salvation that you are enjoying. Just like the father of the prodigal son, who accepted him with compassion and love, so also our God is ready to receive you into His fold with His abundant love.  You have to approach the throne of God, realizing that no human work can result in salvation and that relying on Christ alone, by faith, for your salvation (John 3:16).
Loving Father,
I thank you for saving me and bringing me into your fold. I am your child and will proclaim your name and glorify it. I pray for all my loved ones, that they too may be saved and be accepted by you.
In Jesus most precious name I pray.
