Rejoice and be rewarded

Dr. Paul Dhinakaran
06 Apr
My precious friend, may God bless you this day and prosper you in every way. Today's promise is taken from Matthew 5: 12. This scripture says “Rejoice and be glad, because great is your reward in heaven.” Yes my friend, rejoice and be glad. Being glad in itself brings you great satisfaction. God wants you to rejoice, be glad, and shout for joy. When does God tell you should do this? The answer is given in the previous verse. “Blessed are you when people insult you, persecute you and falsely say all kinds of evil against you because of me.” (Matthew 5: 11) It is in this situation my friend God wants you to rejoice and be glad because God reigns and He is a God of justice. Luke 18:7-8 says “will not God bring about justice for his chosen ones, who cry out to him day and night? He will see that they get justice, and quickly.”

Jesus said in John 16:33, “I have told you these things, so that in me you may have peace. In this world you will have trouble. But take heart! I have overcome the world.” Therefore, rejoice for God will reign supreme in every circumstance. When people insult you, persecute you, and say all kinds of evil against you, rejoice and say my God reigns even now. Do not weep and lament saying everyone is talking against me. It is God who allows it to destroy your ego and destroy the dependence or confidence you have on your own strength. Thereby, God makes you trust him completely. This is what we as a family have done every time we were persecuted, betrayed, and spoken bad about. We never defend ourselves or go to the media give a statement in our defense. We just sit and rejoice in the Lord because our God is a God of justice and he reigns supreme. When we rejoice and are glad, God opens the heavens and sends his reward. God spoke to my father telling that he should never be afraid when people revile at him and not to ask for their extinction but that he should remember to be patient; then God would bless him more and more and his own blessings will destroy the power of the enemy and the works of the wicked people.
Even today, you should do this my friend. Then God will take you to the heavenly place of peace and God will crush Satan who brings all these evil through people under your feet. When you read Gospel of Luke 6:35, it says “love your enemies, do good to them, and lend to them without expecting to get anything back. Then your reward will be great.” Let us pray that God gives us this grace.
Prayer:
My loving heavenly Father,

Help me to rejoice and be glad in you and say that you reign through all circumstances in my life. Let the reward come for me from heaven. Lord in places where I went through shame and sorrow, please honor me in double portion. Let my enemies see my blessing, make peace with me, and turn to Jesus.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
