Pursue God’s Plan for You

My precious friend, today’s promise is taken from Philippians 2:13. It says “for it is God who works in you to will and to act in order to fulfill His good purpose.” Yes, according to this verse, God is working in you in such a way that you will have a desire according to His good purpose and will also have the power to fulfill things according to His good purpose. So be of good cheer! God is in control.

When can the Lord work in you? You must first realise that God has a good purpose for your life. Things may have gone wrong in your life. Bad things may be happening around you and, in every place, maybe you have had to go through shame. Also, you may have had to go through several losses in your life. Do you know why God allows it? So that you will become empty. The faith in your strength will be gone. My friend, that’s how God begins to work in your life. God makes you empty first so that He can fill you with Himself. So that His good purpose will be fulfilled in your life and through your life. Only those who do the will of God will live forever. But those who do their will according to their strength will only last for some time since man and his plans can never be everlasting. But God is everlasting.

In the Bible, there is a man called Abel and it is written about him as “Even though he is dead yet he speaks” (Hebrews 11:4). It is the same about Jesus too. Jesus sacrificed Himself on the cross by emptying Himself completely of all His power, His strength, His blood, all the water in His body, all the fame He had, all the health that He had and all the glory and the riches that He had as God. Jesus did this to understand your emptiness, and your empty life and also to help you in the time of emptying yourself in your life. But then on the third day after His death, Jesus came back to life through His own Holy Spirit who is the Living Water. Now Jesus lives forever and He has the purpose to live for you and for me. So, when God is allowing certain situations in your life to make you empty, Jesus comes to help you. And the Spirit of God will raise you up again when you cry to Him according to Romans 8:11. It is no more ‘you’ anymore but Christ who lives in you. It’s not by might nor by power but it is by the Spirit of God that you begin to live. And God begins to work in you. He gives you the desire to do things which are according to God’s desire and not your fleshly desire. And He gives you the power to act and to succeed and to be more than conqueror through Jesus Christ who loves you. You will become more than a conqueror, my friend. This is the ‘good purpose life’ that God has for you through Jesus Christ

Precious Heavenly Father, thank You for Your wonderful promise. Lord, I believe that You have a good purpose for my life. Even now, Lord, I come before Your cross and pray that You will empty me. Empty me completely of myself and fill me with Your Holy Spirit. Lord, I pray that You will begin to work in me for You are the Author and the Finisher of my faith. It is no longer I but Christ who lives in me. Lord, resurrect me from every situation that is troubling me. Let Your good purpose for my life be fulfilled from today and let Your name alone be glorified in and through me. In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
