Presence Of God Brings Prosperity

Dear Children of God,

When you read about Job in the Bible, it says that he was at the acme of his prosperity; he was the greatest and the richest man on the earth (Job 1:3). Also he was blessed by God with a great household, who helped him in all that he did. Job was joyful as he enjoyed God’s promise, “But you would be fed with the finest of wheat; with honey from the rock I would satisfy you” (Psalm 81:16).

Job led an upright life and walked with gladness of heart and joy before the Lord. God Himself testified of Job, “he is blameless and upright, a man who fears God and shuns evil” (Job 1:8). God was pleased by Job, as he served Him as a family. Likewise, God expects the same from you. As there are some who lead a selfish life and forget about their families. Though, they may be praying and working daily, yet they are not prosperous. There is so much to learn from the life of Job. Job was cautious to see that his children led a sanctified life. He used to offer sacrifice to God on behalf of his children and their family and would sanctify them. He along with his family rejoiced in serving the Lord and thanking Him for all His goodness and claimed, “The Almighty God is still with me” (Job 29:5). This was the secret of his prosperity.
Just like Job, there was yet another person named Obed-Edom, who revered God and walked in His ways. He had a great opportunity to accommodate the Ark of the Covenant of God in his home. And God blessed him and his household and all that he had (2 Samuel 6:11). So, when you are careful to walk in the ways of God, you will be blessed in all your undertakings. Not only this, but God will bless your household too. And when you enjoy God’s blessing, there will be no sorrow. As in the days of Job, abundance of honey and cream were considered as signs of prosperity. Job was blessed to enjoy the richest blessings of God (Job 29:6).

There are several godly people mentioned in the Bible, whom God blessed abundantly. God was with Joseph and whatever he did, he prospered (Genesis 39:3). The fact of the matter is: when God is with you, you will be prosperous in all your ways. And how can God be with you? When you are careful to observe His ways as mentioned in the Bible, “Keep this Book of the Law always on your lips; meditate on it day and night, so that you may be careful to do everything written in it. Then you will be prosperous and successful” (Joshua 1:8). My friends, you too may be seeking for prosperity in your life. And perhaps you may be frustrated, as you have been laboring so hard at your work but no positive results. Be encouraged! Revere God, His ways and lead a cautious life and you too will be prosperous like Job.
Heavenly Father,
I repent of all my sins, a selfish life that I was leading. Today, grant me your Grace to walk humbly in your statutes and lead a cautious life. May I enjoy the prosperity as you granted to Job.
In Jesus’ most precious name I pray.
