No more shame

Sis. Evangeline Paul Dhinakaran

Are you going through much shame because of unanswered prayers and unexpected happenings? Maybe you don’t have a child or you are not able to clear an exam or get the promotion you long desire! Whatever be your situation, God says to you today that you will no more suffer shame (Isaiah 54:4). You will no longer be humiliated. God’s Word assures us that humiliation precedes honour (Proverbs 18:12). If God has allowed you to go through shame it is only because He is willing to honour you more than how much you have suffered.

In the Bible, we see the example of Job. Job had all the blessings he needed in life. But all of a sudden, all the cattle he had, the children he had and the health he had was taken away from. He came to the state of having nothing. He faced utter humiliation. Even his friends and wife criticized him that he had done many sins in his life and that is why he has to face all the harm. But as we know God’s intention about him was to restore twice as much as he had before. God tested him and when he was faithful God blessed him with greater honour than he ever had. We also see of another person who went through much humiliation. It was Joseph. He was righteous before God, but he was despised before men because of the false accusation. Potiphar’s wife charged him unjustly for the mistake she did so Potiphar imprisoned innocent Joseph. Joseph lost the trust of his master. He went through much humiliation, but God was with him in all that he did. God lifted him high in life after he had tested him.
That is why the Word of God says, “But he knows the way that I take; when he has tested me, I will come forth as gold” (Job 23:10). This was so true in the life of Job and Joseph and many other Bible characters. As you know, we count as blessed those who have persevered. We read in the Bible, “You have heard of Job’s perseverance and have seen what the Lord finally brought about. The Lord is full of compassion and mercy” (James 5:11). When we persevere under these humiliating circumstances God will bring about honour in our lives. All that we need to do is humble ourselves under His mighty hand so that in due time He might lift us up (1 Peter 5:6).
Loving Lord Jesus,

Thank You for teaching me and assuring me that You have honourable days ahead of me. You will bless me with honour twice as much as I have suffered. When You have tested me I will come forth as gold. You will bring me out of this state and answer me and give me grace to glorify Your name for Your deliverance in my life. I give You all the glory with all my heart.

In Your name I pray, Amen.
