Holy is His Name!!

“But just as he who called you is holy, so be holy in all you do.”    (1 Peter 1:15)
“And I will sanctify My great name…and the nations shall know that I am the Lord, says the Lord God”(Ezekiel 36:23). Apart from understanding the love of the Lord Almighty, we ought to let everyone know that the name of our Lord is holy. It is inadequate of a true believer to not have the burden of proclaiming the holiness of the Sovereign God. Though we know that the Lord Jesus is our redeemer, we often walk boldly in ways that are abominable to the Lord, just to please people around us and this is how we often profane His holy name.

There was a Christian family which lived as pious Christians when they were with their Christian friends and pretended to pursue other religious rituals when they were among their non-Christian friends. They led a life of hypocrisy. But the Pastor of their church was a very devout man and when he heard about it, made a visit to their house. He told them that the Lord hates those who are neither hot nor cold and that He loves only those who follow Him with a true heart. He taught them this truth with godly love carrying God's word in his heart. Only then did they realize that their way of living was abominable before God and started walking in His holy ways. Though they faced many troubles in the initial stages, they started to live with zeal for the Lord. Thereafter, they rejoiced living a holy life for God.
You might have questions about how to keep yourself holy in the sight of God. The Bible says in 1 John 2:15-16 that, "Do not love the world or anything in the world. If anyone loves the world, love for the Father is not in them. For everything in the world—the lust of the flesh, the lust of the eyes, and the pride of life—comes not from the Father but from the world." There are lustful things in this world that makes us yield to it, leading to sin. We sin with our eyes and thoughts which will eventually lead us to commit that sin. We read that "For out of the heart comes evil thoughts - murder, adultery, sexual immorality, theft, false testimony, slander" (Matthew 15:19). The lust of flesh breeds within us in our hearts as we look at evil and ponder in our minds. The Bible says in Jeremiah 17:9, that "The heart is deceitful above all things and beyond cure." So we need to pray to God to cleanse our heart that we may not yield to the temptations of this world.

But the great news for those who are trying to come out from the worldly lusts is found in Galatians 1:3-4 which says "Grace and peace to you from God our Father and the Lord Jesus Christ, who gave himself for our sins to rescue us from the present evil age, according to the will of our God and Father…" Yes my dearly beloved! You should dedicate your life to the Lord today, and acquire divine holiness. Receiving the Messiah in your life as true Savior will transform your life. He will help you to overcome any lust, addiction, inabilities and sorrow. Jesus does not condemn you of your sin but He will forgive you and help you to sin no more (John 8:11).
Loving Saviour! Grant me Your grace to bring glory to Your name by helping me to live a holy life. Hold my hand and lead me. Protect me so that the sins of this world may not touch me. In the holy name of our Lord Jesus I pray, O Father, Amen.
