God’s Perfect Plans

Hello friend! It is such a joy to share God's word with you. Today, we are going to meditate on God's word which is in Job 42:2. It says “I know that you can do all things; no purpose of yours can be thwarted.” These are the words spoken by Job, when he was going through many tribulations in his life. When you read Job chapter 1, you can see the contrasting situation his life was in when compared to what it was when he said these words. The Bible says that Job was blameless and upright. It is also said about Job that he was the wealthiest among all the people of the East – having plenty of cattle, large number of servants, ten children, and innumerable possessions.

In this situation, satan came up and challenged God, asking God to check if Job will continue to be righteous if all his possessions were taken away. God accepted the challenge and allowed Job to go through trials. As a consequence, satan took away everything Job owned including his cattle, his children and his wealth.  Within a single day, Job came down to nothing. Not being satisfied, satan caused painful boils to come up all over Job’s body. He was facing misery after misery and was in a very bad state. Job’s friends came to see him. However, instead of saying of words of encouragement and support, they accused Job of wrongdoings and that he deserved the punishment. Even his own wife told him to curse God and die.
Because of all the misery, Job regretted that he was even born, but he continued to trust God. During the silence from God with all the sufferings in his body and the hurtful words from his wife and friends, Job said that he knew God has a different plan for him and that God can do all things. He was holding onto God and never stopped believing him.  Finally, God came to his rescue, took away his disease and restored everything he had lost in double measure - his wealth, land, and cattle making him prosperous again. God even gave back his children. God blessed him beyond words in double measure because he was holding on to God during his sufferings.

My friend, you may also be suffering today having lost your prosperity, health or something that you had taken pains to build all your life. Today, God promises to remove your misery and restore everything you lost in double measure because you have continued to trust in him. As said in Psalm 138:8, keep telling God every day that he will perfect everything in your life. He will build you up spiritually and bring you close to him and train you for what he has prepared for your future. Have courage my friend. Don't lose heart. Your reward is on the way.
Prayer:
My loving heavenly Father,

I thank you for today's promise word. I know that all the suffering I go through is preparing me for your plan. Help me Lord to hold onto you and keep trusting in you.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen.
