Is there any need troubling you? Are you struggling to overcome the problems that torment you? Remember, that you have a God who is El-Shaddai, who is all sufficient to meet all your needs. He will fully equip you and cause His strength and courage to flow through you as you face uncertainties. Beloved, when you face an interview, undertake a new venture, discipline a wayward child or face a surgery, overwrite the fear with words and actions of courage. Take hold of God’s promise, “Do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you” (Isaiah 41:10) and swim across to stand on the victor’s stand!
Before 1492 when Columbus sailed the ocean blue, the common belief was that if a ship from Europe sailed far West, they would either fall off the edge of the world or face terrible danger. There was fear of the unknown. In England, there is an ancient nautical map dating back to the time of King Henry IV. On it, the mapmakers wrote these words over the Atlantic Ocean: “Here be dragons; Here be demons; Here be danger.” And based on those superstitious warnings, sailors were afraid of sailing there. But there was an English navigator named John Franklin who was a mighty man of God. He knew the Word of God that says God sits above the circle of the earth. He took that same map, crossed out those fearful words, and added these three words: “HERE BE GOD!”
As you sail through your darkest times in your life, know that “Here is God.” Yes, He is with you always to keep you and sustain you. Job, in the Bible, who lost all his children and properties in a single day, discovered that, he was able to look through his tears and say: “I know that my Redeemer lives” (Job 19:25). Beloved, you have a living and a loving God who measures the heavens with the span of His hand. So, when you feel your world is crumbling, just submit yourself to His hands, the safest place in this Universe! Instead of running to man, you can run to God and trust in His promises. Sooner, you will come out of your difficulties in a glorious manner.
I have been attacked by the tornado of fear which has left me to ruins. I come to Your presence to be relieved of all my fears. Give me the courage to face the challenges. Let the knowledge about Your love, greatness and majesty intensify my faith on You. I believe that You are with me to sustain me. Deliver me from all troubles. May Your glory be displayed through me and my family.
In Jesus’ name I pray, Amen.
