Assured deliverance

When the people of Israel were slaves, they could not bear the burden and torment. So, they joined together and cried unto the Lord. God heard their cries and answered them. In the same way when the Jews were about to be killed, Esther did a fasting prayer for three days with all the Jews. This made the Lord to answer their prayer and deliver them from danger. The Bible says, 'God heard their groaning and he remembered his covenant with Abraham, with Isaac and with Jacob’ (Exo.2:24). God will never forget His promises. He will bless us according to those promises. When we are in trouble, we have to call unto the Lord and tell Him about our problems. Then He will definitely answer our prayers and deliver us from troubles. The psalmist says like this May the Lord answer you when you are in trouble!” (Psalm 20:1).

Antonia met financial trouble. As he needed money, he went to Shylock who was the money lender. Shylock loans Antonia the money but he insists a pound of Antonio’s flesh as collateral, taken from any part of his body if the money is not repaid on time. After few days, the ships of Antonio appear to be lost and he wasn’t able to repay the money on time. Shylock and Antonio went to the court; Shylock wants the flesh from the heart of Antonia according to the will. Portia, the friend of Antonia, dressed as a lawyer she appeared in the court to save Antonia. Portia insists that Shylock can take Antonio’s flesh but must not spill one drop of his blood or his own life will be forfeit. Shylock was shocked and he left that place without saying anything.
In the same way, sometimes we may be caught in our sins but the Lord will never punish us instead He will forgive us. The Lord gave His life on the cross for us and the blood of Jesus cleanses us from all our sins. He intercedes for us always to the Father to forgive our sins. He justifies our sins through His atonement for mankind. All that our Lord expects of us is a heart of reconciliation. When we confess to the Lord our wrong doings and show our faithfulness by putting our trust on Him, He will deliver us from any situation that we may be in. This is why Jesus prayed to the Father as such in John 17:15 “My prayer is not that you take them out of the world but that you protect them from the evil one.” Our Lord Jesus will always intercede for us and give us an assurance of a trouble free life.
Loving merciful God, I thank you for delivering me out of my troubles. It is only through Your abundant grace that I have been rescued. Thank You for the forgiveness of my sins. Through Your sacrifice, You have made us sons and daughters of the Almighty God! I give You all the glory, honour and praise. Help me to know you more and walk in ways that pleases you. Bless this day and bless the work of my hands. I ask this in the mighty name of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ, Amen!
