Reflecting Christ’s Radiance

Dear Beloved:

In the beginning when God created the universe, among all the living creatures; it was the man whom He created in His own image and likeness (Genesis 1:27). But, because of the disobedience of Adam and Eve, man has deviated from God’s calling and has been treading the path of destruction ( Genesis 3:8-13). However, God in His great mercy provided a way out for them, from the eternal destruction- by sending His own Son Jesus Christ, the Savior to save mankind.

As you accept Christ, as your personal Savior; you will leave behind your sinful nature and be a new being in Jesus, as the scripture says,“…being transformed into His image with ever-increasing glory, which comes from the Lord, who is the Spirit”(2 Corinthians 3:18).
Sometime back, an artist who wanted to draw the face of Jesus; was looking for a person who could be a model. Finally, he found one, as his face shone with radiance. He completed the portrait and sent the person away. A few years later, the same artist, wanted to draw the face of Judas ( the one who betrayed Jesus). He was able to find the person, who would reflect Judas’ image. And he found one and told the person, “you face is perfect for Judas”. On hearing this, the person asked him, “ Sir, do you remember me? A few years back, I posed for you to paint the portrait of Jesus. That time, you told me that I looked exactly as Jesus”.The artist was shocked to see him and asked him what had happened, that changed his countenance. The person narrated his tale; the money that he got from the artist, he spent it all unwisely and hence was led astray. His life was ruined, as the days passed by. He said, “When I carried Jesus within me, I looked like Him, but now without Jesus, I’m like Judas-his betrayer”.

Yes, my friend, when you have Jesus with you, you behold Him and reflect His radiance. Whatever you do, is a simple reflection of who are carrying within; the spirit of God or the spirit of the evil one. The Bible tells us, from the fruits you will come to know, “You will know them by their fruits. Do men gather grapes from thornbushes or figs from thistles? Even so, every good tree bears good fruit, but a bad tree bears bad fruit. A good tree cannot bear bad fruit, nor can a bad tree bear good fruit”( Matthew 7:16-18). For if you have Jesus with you, you will always work good deeds, you will have pure thoughts and without Jesus, you will do otherwise.

If you have faltered in your ways, disobeyed God; there is hope for you, for our God is a loving and a gracious God. No matter, how far you have gone away, turn back to the Lord and accept Him. He will fill you with His peace and joy and will bless you!
Mighty God, I have sinned before you; I repent of all my transgressions.I seek your presence in my life so that I can always reflect your glory. Help me and guide me so that I do not falter in my ways.

In Jesus name, I pray. Amen
