Worry ends when faith begins

“Then Isaac sowed in that land, and reaped in the same year a hundredfold; and the Lord blessed him”. (Genesis 26:12)
Our Lord is determined to bless His children. We repeatedly read in the bible how He meets the needs of His servants. From rescuing the Israelites from Egypt to leading them into the Promised Land, our Lord went ahead of them and made their paths straight. Though the Israelites were ungrateful to the marvellous deeds our Lord performed, He moulded them to trust in Him and receive His abundant blessings through His unfailing promises. “The Lord bless you and keep you.”(Numbers 6:24). According to the verse the Lord blessed them and turned their sorrows into joy. Likewise, we will be able to inherit the blessings of our Lord by putting our best efforts and by showing our dependence and trust that we have in Him.
There were two farmers who desperately needed rain. Both of them prayed for rain, but only one of them went out and prepared his fields to receive it. Who do you think trusted God that He would send the rain? In those days, people who lived near the surroundings of Isaac, stopped sowing seeds saying, “There are neither winds nor rains”. However, Isaac cast his entire burden on God, trusting Him without any reservations and sowed seeds with faith focusing his eyes on the heavenly Father, the Maker of heaven and earth from whom help comes, unmindful of the famine faced, drought, rain or winds.
The Almighty God looked not at the seeds but saw his faith and said, “My child has sown seeds believing Me and therefore let Me bless My child.” He blessed Isaac and made him prosper a hundredfold. Likewise, my friend, if you are waiting for a blessing from the Lord it will not happen unless and until you go out and work for it. If you want to score high marks in your studies then you have to study well. If you want to see a profit in your business then you have to put your full effort into it. Then the Lord will see your faith and bless you like Isaac – a hundredfold.
“Dear God, faith without action is dead. I plead with You to give me the wisdom and unshakeable faith as that of Isaac as well as wisdom in what I do. Let me be prepared for Your showers of blessing which You will pour on me. This I pray in Jesus’ name. Amen.”
