The Desire to see Jesus

Dearly beloved in Christ!
Do you have a desire of wanting to see the Lord Jesus Christ face to face? The Bible makes known to us about several people who longed to see God. We read in the Bible that a few Greeks came to Galilee to observe the Passover. Perhaps having heard about the miracle worker – Jesus Christ, they had harboured a deep desire of wanting to see Him face to face. Therefore, they came to Philip – one of the disciples of Jesus Christ, who was from Bethsaida of Galilee, and asked him, "Sir, we wish to see Jesus." (John 12:21). I guess they thought that Philip could assist them in meeting Jesus Christ.

My husband Bro. Dhinakaran waited patiently in prayer for 7 years for the anointing of the Holy Spirit. His prayer was, "Lord! I have been praying sincerely for seven years but You have not shown Your face to me until now. Either You show me Your face or kill me. I dislike leading this cut and dried Christian life." On 10th of October 1962, he came home around 9.30 p.m. and was very tired. As usual, he knelt down for the family prayer. He was exhausted and just waited for his father to offer a short prayer but the loving Lord chose that hour and His mighty presence filled that room.
He saw a bright light piercing through the ceiling and a person appeared in it. Oh! That was the marvellous presence of our Lord Jesus Christ. My husband looked at His face and the Lord said, "I am Jesus! Now that you sought Me diligently, I have come to bless you personally”. For three hours he saw Him and conversed with him. What a glorious and life-changing supernatural experience it was!
Today, I remember this day and praise God for his mercy that has endured generation after generation.

Job says, “Oh, that I knew where I might find Him, that I might come to His seat” (Job 23:3). King David says, “Early will I seek You, evening and morning and at noon I will pray; I meditate on You in the night watches” (Psalm 63:1; 55:17; 63:6). Zacchaeus, who was of short stature, climbed up a sycamore tree to see who Jesus was (Luke 19:3, 4). Hannah came seeking the presence of God in the bitterness of soul perhaps thinking, ‘Can I see the Lord in the tabernacle? Can I shed my tears at His feet?’ (1 Samuel 1:10, 11).

Dearly beloved in Christ! Let us also pant like a deer for the living waters. Let us diligently seek the Lord not only for emergencies but for our everyday walk with Him. We are aware that in His presence alone there is fullness of joy. The feet of the Lord is the only place where you can open your heart and pour out your agony. “God is able to do exceedingly abundantly above all that we ask or think, according to the power that works in us” (Ephesians 3:20).

There may be many desires or sorrows deep in your heart. King David cried out to God every day and God testified him as a man after His own heart. Isn’t that a wonderful testimony from the Almighty God? When Hannah poured her agony at the feet of God, He heard it and blessed her. Zacchaeus sought the Lord and found salvation. Similarly, if you also seek the Lord diligently, He will come near you and remove all your sorrows with His power and grant His life in abundance to you. May God bless you from Zion.

Prayer:
Loving Lord Jesus!
Give me the grace to seek You diligently all through the day just as how You sought Your Father while You sojourned on this earth. Help me to seek Your kingdom and its righteousness first and trust that You will add all things to it. May I learn to unload my burdens at Your feet and carry Your yoke which is light and easy to bear.
In Your precious name I pray.
Amen.
