Rely On God’s Strength

Whatever situation you find yourself in, you will try hard to get over it, but things will seem to be the same; unchanged. Then you realize, you are in need of a greater help. However, if you had sought the Lord in the first place, you need not have gone through all the trouble. So, I want to remind you what the Bible advises us, “Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding” (Proverbs 3:5).

I still remember, when my sister and I were young, our dad wanted us to learn swimming. So, he took us to a deep swimming pool. Without saying anything, he pushed us into the pool. Both of us panicked, panted for breath and called out to our dad to help us. He simply instructed us to flap our way up and swim. It worked! We swam our way up. Likewise, the Lord puts you through deep waters of struggle, pain, misery and when you cry out to Him; He will help you and rescue you from all your troubles. When you try to figure things out on your own, you will end up disappointed but only if you trust the Lord and rely on Him; you will never suffer disappointments in Him. God has His own way of teaching you and His ways are amazing.
When you read about Jonah (Jonah 1), you’ll see how God saved him when he was in deep waters through a great fish who swallowed him. The irony is that though he was in the fishes’ belly, he was alive and cried out to the Lord for help. The Lord heard his prayer and the fish spewed him out (Jonah 2:10). Now, here’s something interesting. God very graciously showed a vision to my grandfather, where he met Jonah in heaven. Jonah narrated that, though he was in the belly of the fish and surrounded by digestives enzymes, it was God’s grace alone which kept him alive. God’s grace covered him and protected him from being digested and that’s how he learned the power of His grace.

My friends, have you been questioning God about the way things are happening in your life? Even at a time, when you desire to trust Him, do you think God is silent and allowing certain situations to happen in your life? I want to assure you that God will not allow you to be shattered. He will cover you with His grace so that no harm will come near you. His grace will keep you isolated from the world and keep you away from the evil one. Today, ask for God’s grace in your life which will not only strengthen you but will also protect you from the wiles of the devil.
Prayer:
Heavenly Father, I pray that you fill me with your Grace which will help me stay strong in my faith. Help me not to sway from your word because of the challenges that I face. I believe that you will not leave me in my time of trouble but will deliver me and grant me victory.

In Jesus’ name, I pray. Amen
