God Is Near Those Who Call Him

Dr. Paul Dhinakaran

Dear ones in Christ,
Usually, people are of the mindset that when the omniscient God knows our needs, why we need to call out to Him. But I have something to tell you. He’s our Heavenly Father. Despite knowing our needs and desires, He’s pleased when we cry out to Him. We read in the Bible, “And Jesus stopped and commanded him (blind beggar) to be brought to him. And when he came near, he asked him, ‘What do you want me to do for you?’ He said, ‘Lord, let me recover my sight.’  And Jesus said to him, ‘Recover your sight; your faith has made you well.’ ” (Luke 18:35-43) Do you think that even after seeing the poor blind man, Jesus was unaware what he needed the most? No, Jesus was impressed by His faith. Jesus was pleased to listen to his desire and even more to fulfill it. Same applies to us also. Jesus is always ready to listen to you. In fact, He’s waiting for you to seek Him and to pour out to Him your heart’s desire. In this manner you can please Him. He rewards those who diligently seek him (Hebrews 11:6). By this, you can experience His glorious presence with you. The divine peace and happiness will reign in your hearts, your house and your surroundings.
I would like to share a real life incident with you.  Years ago, as Abraham Lincoln, the President of United States of America was walking down the streets of a big city, sea of people thronged to greet him and showered flowers on him. The street echoed with the slogan, “Long live the president”. Amongst this hustle bustle, a little girl shouted, “Mr. President, please come to my house”. Listening to this, the president paused for a while and heeded her plea and readily went to her house. He was being stopped by his security officer. But he didn’t pay heed to his security matters. His only intention was to make that little girl happy. He finally made it to her house, spent time with her and came back and joined the parade.

So my dear brothers and sisters in Christ, here you see a person of stature, who heard the plea of that little girl and made her happy. Precisely, the point here is, Jesus who is bigger than any authority in this whole wide world, hears even the whispers of His children. Amongst all the massive problems, hardships and struggles, do you know how to resolve it? Just call to Him. The LORD is near to all who call on him, to all who call on him in truth (Psalm 145:18).  In Him you have all the answers to your problems. Not only that, He will tell you much bigger things, for which you can’t envisage. All because He loves you abundantly!
Prayer:
Father God,
I thank you for granting me the choicest blessings. You are always near to your children and answer their prayers. It’s my faith that you are close to me and answering my petitions.
In the name of Jesus’ I pray.
Amen
