Ask And It Is Given

Bro. D.G.S Dhinakaran

Most of the time, when your prayers aren’t answered; you tend to give up. Frustration sets in and eventually, you stop praying. I want to strengthen you from the Word, which says, “A faithful person will be richly blessed” (Proverbs 28:20). Our God is a loving Heavenly Father and He delights in fulfilling your needs.

You are God’s children and it’s your prerogative to ask Him, “Ask and it will be given to you; seek and you will find; knock and the door will be opened to you” (Matthew 7:7). The Amplified version of this particular verse reads, “ keep on asking….keep on seeking…keep on knocking”. So, you should never put an end to your prayers. However, there are two aspects to it: First, you should keep on asking the Lord, for the gifts, till you get them. And, second, when you ask the Lord for the gifts; you should believe that you have received it and the Holy Spirit, will willing give it to you. Therefore, you need to ask with a firm longing and strong conviction. Not only, will the Lord provide for your needs but rather, fill you with the gifts of the Holy Spirit too.
Once, when I traveled abroad, I met a lady who told me that she attended one of our Jesus Calls Power ministries and was blessed with many gifts. But, she had lost all those precious gifts. I’m sure you will not want this to happen to yourself.

I was holding a very responsible position, in one of the largest nationalized banks of India- State Bank of India. I had to oversee the work of 700 branch offices. Though it was a challenging task for me, yet I spent time in fasting and prayer and built up Jesus Calls Ministry. I always gave Jesus, the first place in my life. Despite all the pressures of my job, I did the Lord’s ministry. And looking at the sincerity of my heart, God blessed me with the gifts of the Holy Spirit.

My dearly beloved, if you chose your secular job over God, then you may not receive the gifts of the Holy Spirit. Because He’s aware, that you would not use that gift. That’s the reason, God wants to you to be faithful, first. When you are faithful in small matters, only then will God bless you with larger responsibility. As is mentioned in the Bible, “If you are faithful in little things, you will be faithful in large ones. But if you are dishonest in little things, you won’t be honest with greater responsibilities” (Luke 16:10).
Almighty God, I come before you and pray that you fill me with your Holy Spirit. I seek your Grace to be faithful towards you and to walk in your statutes.

In Jesus’ name, I pray.
